Entry Requirements

This course has no specific academic prerequisites. Students are required to provide a Unique Student Identifier (USI) – assistance available – along with photo identification, and meet the necessary language, literacy, and numeracy standards.

Fee-Free Eligibility

The Fee-Free Training program represents a joint initiative between the Commonwealth and the Western Australian Government, designed to enhance the skill sets of Australians. Launching on January 1st, 2023, the initiative provides a variety of courses at no cost to participants. The program  concentrates on priority industry sectors with the objective of cultivating WA’s skilled workforce, bolstering employers and businesses, and fostering job and career prospects for all Western Australians.

This course equips you with the skills and knowledge necessary to provide person-centered support under supervision, focusing on people affected by ageing, disability, or other reasons.

The program combines theoretical learning with practical application, requiring at least 120 hours of work to ensure a comprehensive understanding of individualised care plans within a multidisciplinary team framework. Adhering to current legislation and industry standards, this qualification prepares you for a meaningful role in support work, and with the required certification that enables you to contribute positively to the lives of others.
